Summer Buffet Attendant

The role of a Buffet Attendant/Slopeside Attendant is an integral part of the overall success of the Food & Beverage Department here at The Lake Louise Ski Area.  The successful candidate will be assisting in the operation of a high volume establishment catering to an international clientele of avid recreationalists. 

There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Ensure the buffet is constantly monitored and maintained
  • Cash handling
  • Maintain and stock product to established par levels
  • Ensure cleanliness & maintenance of all lodge areas at all times including restrooms
  • Table maintenance - setting, bussing etc
  • Barista duties as required
  • Knowledge and adherence of ALGC legislation
  • Self motivated, can work well in a team as well as independently
  • Ensure quality of product & services offered at all times
  • Must enjoy the outdoors & mountain environment
  • Strong guest service & interpersonal abilities
  • Punctuality and reliability is essential
  • Possess strong communication & interpersonal skills
  • Must be in good physical health
  • Current Pro Serve Certification is required. As a condition of employment certification must be obtained within 30 days of commencing employment.

Summer Mountain Greeter

Reporting to the Mountain Greeting Supervisor or Manager, The ideal candidate will be responsible for the daily operating of the summer sightseeing lift, along with providing each guest that travels up the Gondola with a welcome and resort orientation. This position involves working outdoors in all weather conditions.

Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Checking and scanning each and every guest ticket, ensuring that all guests have experienced the interpretive presentation.
  • Following the proper operational procedures of the gondola i.e. start-up, shutdown and any maintenance problems that may arise.
  • Maintaining good communication and work relationships with the lift maintenance department.
  • Ensuring that log sheets, incident reports and check sheets are filled out properly and regularly.
  • Ensure a positive guest experience through interaction and satisfaction
  • Continued commitment to high standards of service, exceeding Customer expectations
  • Able to deal with a broad range of people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally at all times
  • Assisting with lift evacuation –if necessary.
  • Maintaining clean and orderly work environment. This involves daily clean up of lift huts, surrounding areas, around lodges whenever necessary.
  • Landscaping & grounds work as required
  • Assist with support to Skoki Lodge
  • Minimum Class 5 AB drivers license (or equivalent)
  • Clean drivers abstract (history)
  • Knowledge of the Lake Louise Ski Area is an asset  
  • Punctuality and reliability is essential

Laundry Person - posted May 13th 2012

The Lake Louise Ski Area is looking to fill the fulltime seasonal position of

Laundry Person

Reporting to the Housing Manager; The Laundry Person will be responsible for ensuring that all linens, uniforms and articles are washed, dried, ironed, folded, steamed and dry-cleaned in a high standard to meet both LLSA and guest expectations.  Laundry personnel are expected to adhere to all Occupational Health and Safety regulations and ensure the laundry area and equipment is clean and well-maintained.  Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

 

There is an opportunity to continue employment for the following season if successful.

Some of the requirements/responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Operate dry cleaning machines to clean various linens, staff uniforms and articles.
  • Operate washing machines and dryers to clean and dry towels, garments, sheets, blankets and other articles.
  • Check finished linens, staff uniforms and articles to ensure they have been properly dry-cleaned and/or laundered.
  • Record damaged or improperly laundered or dry-cleaned linens, uniforms and articles.
  • Assemble and bag finished linens, uniforms and articles.
  • Ensure invoices and tags are matched with appropriate linens, uniforms and articles.
  • Valid Class 5 Alberta Driver’s license (or international equivalent) with clean driving record (abstract/traffic history report must be provided before commencement of employment)
  • Appearance must adhere to LLSA grooming policy

Reporting to the Housing Maintenance Supervisor and Housing Manager, the main goal of this position is to effectively communicate with in the department providing all building maintenance support for the resorts housing facilities. It is important within this role to maintain a high standard of safety.  Like all positions at The Lake Louise Ski Area, the incumbent will endeavor to provide our guests with the best vacation and recreation experience possible. The Building Maintenance Worker will have experience in carpentry, electrical, plumbing and minor repairs.

  • Regular & unscheduled inspections and maintenance of all staff buildings & utilities
  • Participate in maintaining a high standard of safety

 The Great Divide Lodge - Maintenance

 Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor; This is a hands-on, “jack-of-all-trades” position. The ideal candidate must posses strong building trade skills in order to perform highly diversified maintenance duties.
